URL to tarball for github projects

When packaging an application retrieved from github, quite often one is facing the problem of the sources:
How to provide a Source0 which reliably give the same sources ?
Abadger1999 just managed to found a way:
https://github.com/<user>/<project>/tarball/<commit>
So for example for the latest commit on the project straight.plugin from ironfroggy the url looks like:
https://github.com/ironfroggy/straight.plugin/tarball/57ef11c
